Stephanie Liu Hjelmeseth grew up in Chinese culture, which she credits for her knowledge of nutrition, herbs and holistic practices. A health scare after a naturopathic treatment was the catalyst for Hjelmeseth’s mindful living. Leveraging her degree in Economics from UC Berkeley, she launched Suá Superette, a Sichuan, organic, farm-to-table market and lifestyle shop in the heart of Los Angeles. There, she hopes to inspire conscious choices in others.
MY STYLE / I’d say it is minimal yet elegant and effortless. I have a curated wardrobe of classic pieces and carefully tailored silhouettes that make dressing a breeze on my busy days.
MY ATHLEISURE / I love a brand called Live The Process.
MY FITNESS REGIMEN / I strength train with a trainer, take Pilates classes, and stretch as often as possible. I’m focused on strength and posture, ensuring my bones stay healthy and strong as I age! And I swear by HEIMAT, a members-only destination for the body, mind, and soul.
MY FACIALS / Melissa Imperial Skin Artistry because they prioritize ethically sourced and plant-based products for both skincare and nutrition.
MY SKINCARE BRAND OF CHOICE / Natura Bisse from Spain is out of this world and highly effective. Inhibit High Definition Serum and Inhibit Retinol Eye Lift are best used together to achieve the best immediate, firming lift. Diamond Extreme Cream is my go-to as an everyday moisturizer, and the Diamond Glyco Extreme Peel is best for baby-soft skin thanks to its exfoliation properties.
MY SPA DESTINATION / Surya, the spa at the Santa Monica Proper Hotel. They are leaders in the Ayurvedic space.
MY CLEAN FOOD JOINT / Of course, Suá Superette. But I also love Organic Oren — and Nong La Vietnamese Cafe for pho and Surawon Tofu House for clean Korean food.
MY LADIES LUNCH PLACE / The Tower Bar at Sunset Tower Hotel. It is art-deco fabulous.
MY DATE NIGHT / Cipriani Beverly Hills
