Here are some of her favorite local haunts in this new-ish LA neighborhood where Playa Vista shines as one of the city’s most desirable places to call home.
TELL US ABOUT PLAYA VISTA. Playa Vista is its own little world. Everything you need is at your fingertips, including restaurants, gyms, nail salons, hair salons, a pharmacy, a movie theater, parks, tennis courts, and so much more. It feels like a real community inside such a big city.
WHAT ARE SOME OF THE AREA’S LANDMARKS? Runway Playa Vista, which has many shops, restaurants, entertainment, and a Whole Foods, is a landmark here. Concert Park is our most extensive park in Playa Vista, surrounded by beautiful palm trees. It hosts many events. Let’s not forget about the Google headquarters, which is also considered a landmark.
WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR FAVORITE SPOTS THERE? Beauty Beach Lounge, Sweat Yoga, Ritrovo, a local Italian restaurant, Gulp Restaurant & Brew Co., and Joliet Café & Bar, an all-day bistro and bar.
WHAT DOES YOUR PERFECT DAY IN PLAYA VISTA LOOK LIKE? It would start with the Playa Vista Farmers’ Market on Saturday, then a hike on the LMU trail. I’d follow that with a coffee at Joliet Café & Bar, then a pizza for lunch at Ritrovo or a Chinese chicken salad at Gulp Restaurant & Brew Co. After lunch, I’d go for a game of tennis or pickleball or a hot yoga class at Sweat Yoga. I might get my hair done at Beauty Beach Lounge. I’d enjoy a movie under the stars or a concert at the park in the evening.
DESCRIBE THE STYLE OF ARCHITECTURE AND DESIGN THAT DOMINATES THE AREA. One style that stands out is vertical, modern indoor/outdoor urban living with lots of windows and open floor plans.
