Cristal Clarke represents the most discerning clientele and specializes in extraordinary properties in Montecito, Santa Barbara, Hope Ranch, and the surrounding communities. An avid art collector, with special interest in early California artists and contemporary art, she can occasionally be found perusing art galleries in Santa Barbara or relaxing at the prestigious Montecito Club in Montecito.

THE NUTSHELL: “I moved to the Santa Barbara / Montecito area originally to attend college. Needless to say, I fell in love with the area and subsequently moved here in my mid 20s to start my career in real estate. I have been fortunate enough to become the leading agent within the community and the #1 real estate agent for Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices worldwide.”

THE CORE: “One of the most wonderful things about living in Montecito is the sense of community. Everyone is familiar with what happened with the fires and debris flows in recent years. It was such a heart warming response not just from the local community, who rallied around, but for people across the nation who helped having seen the TV coverage.”

THE HUB: “You will find me hiking our local trail network. San Ysidro and Cold Springs trails are my favorites. As a foodie and art collector I love visiting the Santa Barbara Museum of Art for its many outstanding exhibits. Look for me at Tre Lune or Helena Bakery for breakfast in Montecito, Loquita, San Ysidro Ranch and Lucky’s for dinner. Montecito and Santa Barbara are dog-friendly communities so walking my dog on the beach is always a treat. We are fortunate to have Butterfly and Hendry’s beaches close by, as well as the Douglas Preserve.”

THE LANDMARKS: “Santa Barbara and Montecito have many diverse architectural styles with the predominant style being Spanish and Spanish Colonial. In recent years we have seen more contemporary architecture being built but the white walls and red-tile roofs are definitely a reflection of our local heritage. Be sure to visit the Santa Barbara Court House, El Paseo Plaza and Santa Barbara Mission for best examples.” THE GEM: “I recently had the pleasure of representing a property close to the San Ysidro Ranch, which is known worldwide for its cuisine and hotel accommodations. The property is a wonderful example of the architectural diversity in our community and exemplifies the understated lifestyle that Montecito and Santa Barbara are known for.”

THE HAUTE SPOTS: “One of my favorite areas is the Funk Zone. It features a very diverse restaurant scene, brew pubs, wine-tasting rooms and art galleries, all located a short distance from the ocean. Don’t miss a visit to La Lie. Wines and Lama Dog Tap Room + Bottle Shop for great burgers.”
